In addition to the public funding we receive, Amandla Charter School invests more than $500 per student each year.  This additional funding we raise from generous individuals, foundations and corporations, makes it possible for Amandla to provide critical academic and enrichment programs to our students including:

  • Small school size

  • Block scheduling in Math and English in the Middle Grades which allows for intensive remediation when needed and rigorous college preparation  

  • Comprehensive college and career preparatory program including full-time College Counselor, OneGoal partnership, AP course offerings, overnight college visits, job-shadowing

  • Enrichment after-school program including:

    • Dance Team

    • Step Team

    • Newspaper

    • Student Government

    • National Honor Society

    • Amandla Cares/We Act (community service club)

    • Science Club

    • Choir

    • Band

    • Web Design & Coding Club

    • Homecoming Committee

  • Competitive athletics program including: Boys and Girls Basketball, Girls Volleyball,Football, Boys and Girls Track, Girls Softball

Partnering with our network of supporters is essential to our success.  As a result of their generosity we are able to provide Amandla students with the high quality, free public education they deserve.


  • $100 to purchase uniform shirts for 5 students who cannot afford them.

  • $250 to one AP Biology textbook OR one student saxophone for our jazz band.

  • $500 covers the gap between public and necessary total funding for one student.

  • $1,000 to cover the materials for one 9th grade algebra class.

  • $2,500 to purchase 10 Google Chromebooks (a full set for a class of students with special needs).

  • $5,000 to cover the costs of 15 11th graders going on an overnight trip to tour several college campuses.
